About the Doula
Corey Strouse, Certified Doula
Hello! My name is Corey Strouse and I am the owner of PA Doula and Wellness LLC.
My business is located at 111 S. Spring St., Suite 5, Bellefonte, PA 16823. I serve clients in State College, Altoona, Clearfield, Dubois and surrounding areas. I received my formal Doulas of North America (DONA) birth doula training in Harrisburg, PA were it was my privilege to be instructed by one of the founders of DONA, Penny Simkin. I was a DONA certified doula for 10 years.
I am a certified doula through Childbirth International (CBI), Prodoula, and Madriella. I am a Hypnobabies® Childbirth Hypnosis Doula (HCHD), a trained Postpartum Doula through Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), and a certified Postpartum Doula through Madriella.
I am the mother of three wonderful children. Though all three of my births were non-medicated hospital deliveries, it is my desire to support my clients through their own unique birth journey. Whether you are planning to have a non-medicated birth or desire to use pain medication, I will support your choices to the best of my ability.
I have been working as a doula for 19 years. I support women through all types of birth experiences, including hospital births, home births, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC), twin births, and high risk births. I have worked with women off all ages, from 16 through 46, and specialize in supporting women who are having their first baby after age 35.
Every woman is different, every labor is different, every birth is different. I learn something new at every birth I attend and use the knowledge that I gain to better support each new couple through their own birth journey. I bring the wisdom of my own births, the wisdom I have gained over 19 years of supporting birthing women, and the wisdom my many doula teachers and mentors have generously shared with me to every birth I attend.
