As A Doula:
I provide physical and emotional help to women and their partners during labor. I will support you throughout your labor through massage, relaxation, breathing, positioning, and other comfort measures. My goal is to help you to have the best birth experience possible. Whether you choose to have a natural birth, one that is medicated for pain, or require a cesarean birth, I am here to support your choices. I want to help you have
positive memories of this special day.
Limitations:
A Doula performs no medical skills. I am not trained to make medical decisions. My training does include knowledge of obstetrical procedures and interventions so that I may assist mothers in making informed choices about their care. Risks, benefits, and possible alternatives for tests and procedures should be discussed with your healthcare provider during prenatal appointments.
Questions:
Recent studies have shown that the use of a Doula results in decreased risk of cesarean or instrument assisted delivery, increased breastfeeding success, greater partner confidence, and higher maternal satisfaction. Please contact me for more information on how you can have a Doula attend your birth, or for a current rate listing.
